Lonnie Theus Griffin, 84, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Cypress Pond Seasons in Tifton. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Griffin at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2020, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Dr. Wayne Roe will officiate.
Tommy Griffin, Danny Griffin, Linc Griffin, Daniel Griffin, Jody Griffin, Andrue Dixon and Johnny Eaton will serve as pallbearers.
Born October 30, 1935 in Macon, Mrs. Griffin was the daughter of the late Marion William Theus and Alice Connor Theus. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Jackson Griffin, Sr.; one son, Larry Edward Griffin; a great-granddaughter, Danielle Dixon Flanders; and an infant sister, Elizabeth Theus. Before retiring, she was the owner and operator of Lonnie’s Hair Fashions. She and her husband, Dan, were the original owners and operators of Griffin Ford Lincoln. She was a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She and her husband, Dan, were active in the Shriners Organization, where she served as president of Daughters of the Nile. She was also president of the Ladies Golf Association at Springhill Country Club; a member of the Ladies Elks Auxiliary; and a member of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Betty Griffin and Danny and Tammy Griffin, all of Tifton; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Dana and Lamar Flanders, Leila and Scott Hodges, Linc and Kristen Griffin, Brandy and Randy Carr, Jody Griffin, Daniel Griffin III and Alyssa Griffin; seven great-grandchildren, Lauren Coker, Michael Coker, Katy Eubanks Griffin, Allie Griffin, Andrue Dixon, Parker Crutchfield and Ava Griffin; and one great-great grandson, Kayson Dixon.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Cypress Pond Seasons Unit for their loving care of Mrs. Griffin.
