Elizabeth Mullins Moorefield, wife of Earl Moorefield, of Chase City, VA passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020. She was born on June 23, 1944 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Willie and Margaret Talley Mullins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Hilda Mullins Ellis.
Elizabeth loved life, her family and friends and enjoyed line dancing and bowling. She was a retired Clerk Receptionist from Mecklenburg Electric Cooperative. She was a Charter Member of the Mecklenburg Lioness Club and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Earl Moorefield; nieces, Brenda Terry Batten and Crystal Strickland (Philip) of Raleigh, NC; two great-nieces, Amber Ross (Eric) of Wake Forest, NC and Zoey Strickland of Raleigh, NC; and three great nephews, Trey Simpkins of Garner, NC, Patrick and Brian Strickland of Raleigh, NC, three great-great nephews, two great-great nieces and one great-great-great nephew, who all affectionately call her "Aunt Butch." In addition, she is also survived by a Goddaughter, Jill Walker Seamans (BJ) and their children, Jacob and Jett of Chase City. Elizabeth had many friends whom she dearly loved including lifelong friend, Elmer Hodge of Roanoke; dedicated friend of many years, Frances Walker; a special neighbor Pauline Lenhart, both of Chase City; and a host of other extended family and friends.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Bluestone Independent Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Mike Reynolds officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the grave site.
