Carmen De Leon Abreu, 75, of Boston, died peacefully on Saturday May 30th . She was born in Puerto Rico and was raised by her loving mother Antonia Abreu. Carmen was sister to Ismael De Leon and Gloria De Leon Abreu Pinto who predeceased her.
She leaves to cherish her memories: 1 daughter, Maria & husband Peter Kenney of Hanson, and her true joy in life, her 2 grandchildren, Catherine and Christopher Kenney. She also leaves beloved nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Carmen worked most of her life as a talented seamstress and was extremely proud to spend most of her years sewing military uniforms. She was a single mom who worked tirelessly to make sure her daughter had everything she needed, very caring, an amazing giving person who would give her last dollar to help anyone. Her daughter will always remember the beautiful sound of her mother’s sewing machine as she stayed up late at night to make a beautiful dress for her daughter. Carmen always stressed to her daughter the importance of faith in god-God was always present in her life. Her smile would light up a room when she saw her grandchildren, her true joy in life was spoiling her daughter and grandchildren.
She will be missed by family and friends and her memory will live on.
Due to the quarantine there will be no wake or funeral service open to the public. The family will have a private memorial service.
