Joan E. Caledonia, 59, of Brockton, died on Monday, May 25, 2020 at the Brockton
Hospital/Signature Healthcare after a lengthy illness and a recent period of failing health. She was born in Brockton a daughter of Joan (Blunt) Caledonia and the late Domenic Caledonia. She lived in Brockton for most of her life and was a 1979 graduate of Brockton High School.
For several years Joan was a loving caregiver for two of her nieces and a nephew, with who she had a very special relationship. She also worked in patient care at the Massachusetts Hospital School, and in customer service for a local printing company. She was a Patriots and Red Sox fan and enjoyed trips to the casinos.
In addition to her mother, Joan is survived by her siblings, Geryl McAndrews and her husband Jack of North Easton, Jay Caledonia and his wife Maureen of Brockton, Lynn Stulpin of Hanson, David Caledonia of Brockton and Diane Cherkaoui and her husband Zouheir of Florida. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Joan was a quiet, kind soul, with a witty sense of humor who showed courage as she dealt with her illness. Though she will be sadly missed, she would want those she touched to hold only happy memories of her in their hearts, and be comforted by knowing that she is now at peace.
