New Bedford – Rita M. (Foley) Kut, 83, of Westport died Monday, February 20, 2006 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Sigmund Kut.
She was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Joseph C. and Malglina (Maynard) Foley, and had resided in Westport for most of her life. She was a Communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport. A graduate of Sacred Heart Academy, Fall River she was an inspector at Firestone Rubber Company in Fall River. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Senior Citizens and the Westport Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by 2 sons: Michael F. Kut, Sr. of Westport and Steven S. Kut of Westport; a daughter: Joan E. Peters of Port Orchard, WA; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Sigmund E. Kut and John J. Kut, sister of the late Joseph C. Foley, Jr. and grandmother of the late Lisa J. Kut.
Services will be Wednesday, February 22, 2006 with visitation 1 hour prior to funeral from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport
