Obituary

CHICOPEE – Ghislaine M. “Jessie” (Courchesne) Ricardi, 93, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, May 28, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at The Arbors in Chicopee surrounded by all the memories that she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on October 20, 1926, a beloved daughter of the late Henry J. and Lydia M. (Pouliot) Courchesne. She was raised and educated in Holyoke and had moved to Fairview in 1965 where she lived the remainder of her life. She was employed as a Machine Operator for 47 years at the former National Blank Book in Holyoke and retired in 1989 and had also worked at the former Springfield Photo Mount in Holyoke. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. During her leisure time, she enjoyed bowling and was active with the local Springfield Ten Pin Bowling Leagues during the 1960’s and 70’s. She enjoyed going on trips with the South Hadley Senior Center and the residents at the Arbors in Chicopee, vacationing in Florida and watching her beloved Red Sox play at “Fenway Park South” in Baltimore, MD with her daughter and son-in-law. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Quinto R. “Rick” Ricardi, Jr. who was Called Home on July 30, 2002. They were married on May 10, 1952 at the former Precious Blood Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 50 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl A. Craven and her husband, Jeffrey, of Chicopee; her dear brother and sister-in-law, Roger Courchesne and his wife, Janet, of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended members of the Ricardi and Courchesne families and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear sister and brother-in-law, Clemence Danis and her husband, Robert. Her Funeral Services will be private and Burial will be private at Saint Patrick Cemetery in Chicopee. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
