Ruth Hall Burkett, 91, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, May 28, 2020, at her residence.
Private graveside services will be held.
Ms. Burkett was born December 9, 1928, in Waycross, Georgia, to the late Ernest Ledger Hall, Sr. & Carrie Woodhouse Hall. She moved to the community in 1936 and was a 1946 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. She worked for the Department of Family & Children Services and the Ben Hill County Health Department. Ms. Burkett was a charter member of the Green Thumb Garden Club and a volunteer for the American Red Cross Blood Mobile for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald and the Genesis Sunday School Class. She also served on the benevolence committee, helping to prepare funeral meals for church member’s families.
She is survived by her two sons: Wesley L. Walker and Sue of Ocilla and Tim Walker of Dallas, Texas; one granddaughter, Andi Walker; a step-granddaughter, Amber Bishop as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Pedrick; three brothers: Ernest Ledger Hall, Jr., Jim Hall and Dan Hall; and two sisters: Carrie Hall and Margaret Hall.
