Nancy M. Cayer (Sawyer),76 of Chicopee passed into Eternal Life on Thursday, May 14, 2020. She was born on May 17, 1943 in Holyoke and grew up in Granby, Ma. She was of the Catholic Religion. She was married for 56 years to the late Real Cayer. She is now in his loving arms in Heaven. She was such a giving person. It was a passion to her and loved spending time with family and friends.She was dearly loved by so many; a cherished and beloved daughter of the late Raymond and Marcelle Sawyer. She grew up in Granby, and later moved to Holyoke, where she spent most of her life before moving to her favorite place; Cape Cod. She resided for over 20 years in S.Yarmouth, before moving back to Chicopee. During her stay at Cape Cod her favorite things to do were going to the beach, and going to all the Christmas Tree Shops. Although going on many cruises with her husband topped it all off. A childhood hobby of hers was being in a section of the Girl Scouts called the Brownies.During her life she was employed at several places including Newbury’s Soda Shop where she met the love of her life; Real Cayer. She then worked as a Nurses Aide at Holyoke Hospital and also was a homemaker and mother. She loved the beach and would always take us to Misquamicut, R I., Hampden Ponds, Cape Cod beaches and many local pools. Each year we would take a family vacation to Lake Winnipesaukee,N.H. She was a big fan of the Red Sox and the Patriots. Her adult hobbies included taking pictures,a variety of crafts including ceramics, crocheting, and sewing. She leaves behind 3 heartbroken and loving children; Steven Cayer and his wife; Melinda Cayer of Granby, Lisa Cayer Labanino and her husband Israel Labanino of Kingsville,Texas, and David Cayer of Holyoke. Along with 6 loving grandchildren;Samantha Cayer and her husband; Jonathan Roushia, Nicholas Labanino, Ryan Cayer, Matthew Cayer, Justin Cayer and Adam Cayer; As well as 2 great grandchildren; Audrina Cayer and Dawson Roushia. She is preceded in death by one brother; Robert Sawyer. She leaves behind three other siblings; Russell Sawyer, Lynne Sawyer and Raymond Sawyer. In addition to many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and extended members of the Cayer and Sawyer families. All services were entrusted to the Grise Funeral Home and will include a small family gathering at a later date.
