Anthony L. Scaparotti, lifelong resident of Medford, passed away on Monday, May 25th. He was 75. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Louis and Rose (Maniscalco) Scaparotti.
Anthony enlisted in the United States Army in the spring of 1966 from Boston, serving during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation Medal, M-14 Rifle Badge and the Good Conduct Medal.
Anthony enjoyed coaching the Medford Babe Ruth Baseball Team and was the president of the Medford Recreational Hockey Team. Anthony religiously attended his son’s and grandchildren's sporting events, cheering them on from the sidelines. When Anthony was not attending sporting events he enjoyed watching (and occasionally yelling) at the TV.
Anthony was the beloved husband of 49 years to Janice (Silano) Scaparotti. He was the devoted father of Mark Scaparotti, and his wife Ryan, Matthew Scaparotti, Anthony “TJ” Scaparotti, and his wife Marigaret and Stephen Scaparotti. He was the loving Papa of Rocco, Nicolo, Dominic, Luca, Enzo, Angelo and Matteo. The caring brother of Phyllis McGinn, and her husband Paul. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Anthony’s funeral services will be private. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
