Alvan T. Fuller, 94 of New Bedford died May 19, 2020 at Philip Hulitar Hospice after a brief illness.
He was the husband of the late Bernice E. (Hardy) Fuller.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Harry and Ella (Wood) Fuller, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Fuller was formerly employed at Quaker Fabrics for many years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was an active member of American Legion Post 1.
Survivors include his 2 sons, Gordon T. Fuller of New Bedford and Scott A. Fuller and his wife Robin of Dartmouth; 2 brothers, Warren Fuller of New Bedford and Norman Fuller of Dartmouth; a sister, Marjorie Fuller of Maryland; 3 grandchildren, Jaime Lush, Zachary Fuller and his fiancée Kristen Lavin and Quinn Fuller; 5 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the grandfather of the late Renee Rozell and the brother of the late Donald Fuller, Harry Fuller, Robert Fuller, Ruth Fuller and Barbara Golas.
Due to current restrictions on public gatherings, his services and burial will be private for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alvan’s memory may be made to the Veterans Transition House 344 County St. New Bedford, MA 02740. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
