AUBURN: Frances J. (Pickering) Sirois, 74, died Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus due to complications from the Covid-19 virus and pneumonia. She leaves her husband of 53 years, George F. Sirois; her son, George F. Sirois, Jr.; foster siblings and in-laws, including several nieces and nephews.
Fran met her husband at Civil Air Patrol while they were in high school. They dated for four years before marriage, while George went to college. She often worked nights so she could be available for her family during the day. This included being the Third Shift Supervisor at the Webster Square CVS in Worcester.
Fran was very active in her son’s life by being Room Mother and being involved in the Home and School Association, the Boy’s Club, Cub Scouts, and church. When her son was older, Fran returned to school to pursue her lifelong dream of being a nurse. Despite being the oldest student in her class, Fran graduated the Licensed Practical Nursing Program at Assabet Valley with distinction. She worked as an LPN at St. Vincent’s Hospital’s Neuro Ward in Worcester.
A devout Catholic and former parishioner of St. Ann’s Church in Marlborough, she filled her life caring for others and performing good works. Fran was the “rock”, who family and friends turned to in a crisis.
Fran enjoyed crocheting, making jewelry and other decorative items, and baking. She got great joy giving her creations to others as gifts. Her Triple Fudge Cake and Cappuccino Fudge, were the stuff of legend.
After cremation, Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The family suggests donations in memory of Fran may be made to researching a cure for Lupus. Kelly Funeral Home, 154 Lincoln St., is assisting with the arrangements.
