FALL RIVER - John Silva, age 72, residence 766 Sodom Rd. Westport, died Friday in Fall River at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Maria M. (Capeto) Silva also of Westport. He is survived by 1 Son: John Silva of Key West, FL, 4 Daughters: Natalie Silva of Westport, Anna Munroe of Tiverton, RI, Christine Silva of Westport, and Maggie Silva of Westport, 2 Brothers: Antonio Da Silva of Tiverton, RI and Marcelo Da Silva of Fall River, 1 Sister: Margaret Medeiros of Tiverton, RI, 6 Grandchildren and Many Nieces and Nephews. He was the brother of the late Manuel Da Silva.
Born in Capelas, Sao Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Manuel Da Silva and the late Natalia (Moniz-Da Ponte) Da Silva. He was a resident of Westport since 1990, and he previously lived in Fall River. Before retiring he worked as a Laborer in Road Construction for Di Ambra Contsruction Co. and previously for Cardi Construction Co. He was a member of St. John The Baptist Church in Westport.
His Funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 North Main Street on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John The Baptist Church, Main Rd. Westport at 9:30 A.M. Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport. Calling Hours Monday 4-8 P.M.
