Gerald Autry Ross, 82, of Irwin County, Georgia, died Sunday, May 17, 2020, at his residence.
Private services will be held.
Mr. Ross was born December 10, 1937, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late J. D. Ross, Jr. & Etta Ruth Maddox Ross. He was a 1957 graduate of Irwin County High School and was a farmer. Mr. Ross enjoyed his grandchildren and their sports. He coached girls’ softball and little league baseball and he served as little league president. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jerrie Ross of Ocilla; children: Autry W. Ross of Houston, Texas, Anthony M. Ross and wife Beth of Wray, Al D. Ross and wife Sonya of Alma, Neal Ross and wife Tammy of Ocilla and Nolan Ross of Ocilla; grandchildren: Andrew Ross & Sarah, Adam Ross & Madeline, Amanda Grace Ross Clements & James, Abby Ross, Austin Ross, Leah Ross, Ryan Ross, Davis Ross, Tyler Ross, Zachary Wilson and Jonathan Wilson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jimmie Ruth Ross and a brother, Damon Cecil Ross.
The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the compassionate care they received from South Regency Hospice in Moultrie as well as the aides from Tender Care.
