CHICOPEE – Albert L. “Al” Morin, 85, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, May 16, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at his home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on March 18, 1935, a beloved son of the late Albert and Germaine (Angers) Morin. He was raised and educated in Holyoke and had lived in Holyoke before moving to Chicopee in 2002. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corps, attained the rank of Corporal and received the National Defense Service Medal. He was employed for many years as a carpenter for the City of Holyoke. During his leisure time, Al enjoyed spending time outdoors whether hunting, camping, fishing or hiking. He also enjoyed staying in shape and lifting weights. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Carol Ann (Deprey) Morin. They were married on April 5, 1975 in Springfield and were blessed with over 45 years of happiness together. He also leaves his ten loving children, Debra Ann Badger and her husband, Edward of Springfield, Kenneth Morin and his wife, Judith, of Chicopee, Michael Morin and his wife, Danielle, of Ludlow, Barbara Morin of Chicopee, Sherry Stockdale of Ware, Albert Morin, Jr. of Holyoke, Jerry Morin of Florida, Eric Morin of Chicopee, Cassie Greaney and her husband, Michael, of Chicopee and Jason Morin of Chicopee; his many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his two dear sisters, Jeannette Vincent and her husband, Elmer, of Alabama and Bernadette Schmalenberg and her husband, Walter “Bud”, of Granby; his dear sister-in-law, Maryann Morin of Chicopee; his dear brother-in-law, Jimmy Thomas of Texas; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, numerous friends, and extended members of the family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving son, Normand Morin; his loving son-in-law, Ed Stockdale; his dear brother, Normand Morin; and his dear sister, Dorothy Thomas. His Funeral Services will be private with his burial at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
