Fernando M. Costa, age 57, passed away on May 14, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on March 30, 1963 in Nazare, Portugal. Fernando worked as an independent contractor doing construction for many years. He is survived by his mother Maria Do Carmo (Dias) Costa of Chicopee; 1 sister, Maria Magnolia and her husband Robert of Chicopee; 2 brothers, John Costa and his wife Kim of Palmer and Ricardo Costa of Chicopee; his nieces and nephews, Amy Desautels, Michael Zabowski and Nikita White, Natasha and Amanda Costa along with many great nieces and great nephews. He is predeceased by his father Diamantino Sousa Costa. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Due to “Freddys” love of children and past involvement with the Shriners, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St, Springfield, MA 01104. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
