Angela M. (Cappucci) Cambria, loved dearly by her family and friends, age 90, of Chelsea, formerly of Medford and East Boston, passed away on May 11, 2020 after a courageous 3-week fight against Covid-19. Angela was one of seven children of the late Joseph and Lucy Cappucci. She was also predeceased by her husband Salvatore Cambria, brothers Anthony, Reverend Chester OMI, Joseph, Robert, and her beloved sister Lucy Atkinson. Angela is survived by her adoring sister, Rita Vachon, and many nieces and nephews. Angela attended Catholic schools and worked as a seamstress and forewoman for a dressmaker. Angela’s true calling was ‘caregiver’ for the Cappucci family and keeping the Cappucci home a welcoming and loving place where family and neighbors often dropped in for lunch or Sunday dinner. Angela perfected family recipes and continued the traditions of holiday open houses. Angela and her siblings cared for her father at home for many years. Angela also cared for her husband, Salvie, through his battle with lung cancer. Angela remained steadfast by her mom, known as Noni to the Cappucci grandchildren, keeping Noni engaged in cooking, prayer, and family life for many years after suffering stroke. Angela was fun-loving and greeted everyone joyfully. She enjoyed travel with Salvie to Las Vegas, New York City, and Old Orchard Beach, and, more recently, with her sisters and brother, Bobby, to St. Anne’s Shrine. Most importantly, Angela’s faith in God and devotion inspired us. She was always happy to see family and grateful to everyone who helped her. Angela made us all feel loved and will be remembered for her infinite love for God and her family. Angela will be laid to rest at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Charitable contributions in honor of Angela’s memory may be made to Hearing Charities of America at www.hearingcharities.org or by donating to the charity of your choice to help those in need during these extraordinary times. A celebration of Angela’s life will be planned for a later date.
