Francis Leon Granger Haddocks, 80, of New Bedford died May 13, 2020 unexpectedly at home.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Richard and Olivia (Busby) Haddocks, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was formerly employed with the Bristol County Sheriff's Office for over 40 years before retiring as superintendent. Prior to that, he was the proprietor of Fran's Barber Shop.
Mr. Haddocks enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially Bobby Andrade, Jr.
He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Haddocks was a member and past Exalted Ruler of William H. Carney Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Cecelia Rose; 2 daughters, Belinda Bulgar and her husband Brennan of New Bedford and Donna Robertson and her husband Kevin of Dartmouth; 4 step-children, Deborah Gonsalves and her husband Kevin, Brian Rose and Scott Rose all of New Bedford and Donald "Muff" Rose, Jr. and his wife Laura of Martha's Vineyard; a step-daughter-in-law Mary Lou Rose; 4 brothers, Richard Haddocks, Jr. and his wife Marcy Haddocks of Atlanta, Jonathan Haddocks and his wife Deanna and Weldon and his wife Carolyn Henricks, all of Athol and Cary Galvin of New Bedford;; a sister, Anita Stanford, of Norwich, CT; 11 grandchildren Shaunte "Izzy" and her husband Calvin, Marcel and his wife Stephanie, Leandra, Tevin, Rayna, Briana, India and her husband Sterling, Brett, Kellen, Taylor and Madison; 4 great-grandchildren, Mia, Kendrick, Kai and Kameron; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the step-father of the late Ronald Rose,and the brother of the late Lloyd Haddocks, Carleton Haddocks and Judith Cornish Anderson.
Due to current restrictions on public gatherings, his services and burial will be private for immediately family. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
