Antonio Inacio Curvelo, “Antone”, age 76 of New Bedford, MA passed away after a short, but courageous fight with COVID-19 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton on Monday, May 11, 2020. Beloved Father of Sergio (Angie) Curvelo and Isabella Curvelo of Florida, Susan (Gerrlyn) Curvelo and Steven Curvelo of Massachusetts. Dear Grandfather to Nathan, Madison, Kailey, and Carter.
He was the beloved son of the late Antonio Curvelo and Maria da Conceicao Peidade of Ponta Garcia, Sao Miguel, Azores. Sadly missed by his siblings: Maria do Carmo, the late Conceicao, the late Maria dos Anjons, Jose, Joao, Manuel, and Carlos. Forever remembered by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was previously married for 32 years to Maria Carmo (Curvelo) Ferreira.
Antonio immigrated into Massachusetts with his family just over 40 years ago in search of a better life. Antonio retired from Quaker Fabrics where he was a dedicated worker for over 25 years. Antonio was a family man who loved to take annual vacations with his wife and children. He put everything he had into their family home. He enjoyed fishing and watching futebol, watching Bruce Lee films, and enjoyed visiting his family in Canada.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the medical care team at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton for their compassion in Antonio’s last days as where family could not be by his side due to the current circumstances.
Due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, we will not be holding funeral services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when friends and family can safely come together. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this very difficult time.
