New Bedford- Margarita Mateo died Thursday February 16, 2006 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care Facility. She was the mother of Judith Torres, Edwin Garcia, Louis F. Garcia all of New Bedford, and William Garcia of South Dartmouth. She was the sister of Nellie Ramos, Juanita Colon both of Puerto Rico, Gloria Diaz of Pennsylvania, and Sylvia Pedrogo of New Jersey.
Mrs. Mateo was the daughter of the late Catalino and Otielia (Pedrego) Santiago. She was born in Saint Isabel, Puerto Rico. She worked as a Nurses Aid at Blaire House Nursing Home until her retirement.

In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated.
