Julia Merle Patton age 82 of Water Valley, MS, passed away in St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital, Jackson, MS on February 17, 2006. She was born in the Sylva Rena Community near Water Valley, MS to the late George E. Patton and Frances Wiesel Patton and was a member of the Church of Christ in Water Valley. Ms. Patton attended college at Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus, MS.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until the 2:00 PM funeral service in Henry Chapel at Seven Oaks Funeral Home. Officiating at the service will be Brother David Floyd and Rev. James West with interment to follow in Sylva Rena Cemetery.
Ms. Patton is survived by a sister, Ollie Mae Arnold of Memphis, TN and brothers; James Carson Patton of Starkville, MS and Cubert R. Patton of Jackson, MS. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and friends that will miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Grace Willingham (July 28, 1990) and Glenda Thornell (January 23, 2002), four brothers: Carl V. Patton( April 17, 1986), William Coley Patton (November 9, 2004), Coy E. Patton (May 15, 1990) and Clinton Patton (June 1, 2002).
