New Bedford – Arthur L. Cieto, 86, of New Bedford, passed away on May 8, 2020. He was the husband of Carole Cieto.
Mr. Cieto was born in Westport, son of the late Joseph and Bernice (Feenan) Cieto. He was affectionately known to his lifelong friends and family as Herky. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the U.S. Army. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the former New Bedford Gas and Edison Light Company.
Survivors include his son: Douglas Cieto and his wife Michelle of New Bedford; 1 grandchild: Melissa Cieto; and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his nephew, Michael J. Cieto and his son, Jason Cieto for their many kindnesses during this difficult time.
He was the brother of the late Alan Cieto, Joseph Cieto, Jr. and Mary Curtain.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
