Irene A. (Seccareccio) Bramante-Ficaro, of Medford, formerly of the West End of Boston, passed away peacefully on May 9th, at the Bear Mountain Nursing Home in Andover, after a short illness at the age of 90. Irene was born in the West End of Boston. She was the cherished daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Zenga) Seccareccio.
Irene worked as a stitcher for the famed Landlubber Jeans Company in the Hoffman Building in Boston. After marrying and having children, Irene and her family resided in Medford, where she lived for the rest of her life.
As her children grew Irene became a Home Health Aide working for Intercity Home Care in Malden. For over 40 years Irene faithfully tended to the needs of home bound elderly, making many friends over the years.
After a distinguished career Irene retired at the age of 84. After retirement Irene was active at the Medford Senior Center. Meeting up with friends and helping those in need. She lived independently up to the time of her short confinement at the nursing home. Irene was a 50 year plus breast cancer survivor.
Irene was the beloved wife of the late Gaetano Bramante and Charles Ficaro. She was the devoted mother of Domenic P. and his wife LouAnn (Angelo) Bramante and Debra (Bramante) and her husband Richard G. LaVerde. Loving grandmother of Richard LaVerde and Christopher LaVerde, and adoring great-grandmother of Nadia LaVerde. She is also survived by Charles’ daughter Joanne (Ficaro) and her husband John Lauria, and their daughters Janell Lauria and Nicole Lauria. Survived by two brothers Paul and Ronald Seccareccio. Also survived by one sister Jacqueline DiGaetano. Predeceased by her sisters Ann D’Ambrosio and Lucille Thomas. Irene is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Irene’s funeral services will be private. A celebration of life will be celebrated at a later date.
