Patricia A. (Walsh) Horner, of Boxford, formerly of Medford, passed away on May 10th. She was 70 years old. Patricia was born on March 12th, 1950 in Medford to the late William and Barbara (Wilson) Walsh.
Pat obtained her nursing degree in 1976 from Boston Trade School. She was a devoted nurse and cared for her patients with a deep passion. She also spent years caring for infants and toddlers at her own home day care in Boxford; teaching, loving, and supporting others' children as if they were her own.
Patricia is survived by her loving sons Justin Horner and Matthew Horner of Boxford, and Robert Horner II and his fiancé Maria Ciruolo of Wenham. She was the cherished sister of David Walsh and his wife Betty, and Robert Walsh and his wife Marilyn, all of Medford. She was the loving aunt to Christian Walsh of Medford and Kasey Edwards and her husband Chris of Newburyport, and a loving great aunt to Davis and Robbie. Pat will be missed by her beloved cats, Marley and Seeker, who loved to cuddle and play and were wonderful companions.
Pat loved the beach. She loved being in the sun, toes in the sand, and a diet Pepsi in hand. Her tan lasted yearlong and was beautiful. Her family and friends can recall days spent at Crane's Beach in Ipswich, Plum Island in Newburyport, and Singing Beach in Manchester. She had a beautiful collection of seashells and sand dollars and enjoyed fishing with her son Matt. Pat enjoyed gardening, proud of the asparagus spears that she grew and her beautiful rhododendrons.
Pat's fun spirit will always be remembered. She loved music and dancing and if there was a beat playing, you could bet Pat was moving along to it and encouraging others to join in on the fun! She loved music, and was a big fan of Bruce "The Boss" Springsteen, Tom Petty, Queen, and The Beatles. Her kids have fond memories of attending live concerts with her and dancing together. She was an amazing cook, and was proud of her own published recipe for Fresh Apple Cake. Holidays will not be the same without Pat's stuffed mushrooms, delicious desserts and her loving presence. Pat truly lived her life following The Golden Rule.
A celebration of Patricia's life will be held at a later date.
