Joseph G. Roy, age 94, passed away on May 8, 2020 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford Springs, CT. He was born on Feb. 11, 1926 in Springfield, MA, a son of the late Frederick L. and Katherine (Lee) Roy. Joe was a WWII US Navy Veteran. He was the owner of JG Roy Lumber Company for many years until he retired. He is survived by 5 sons, Joseph G Roy III of Agawam, Charles F. Roy and Deborah of Monson, David M. Roy and Ronald Patenaude of Otis, Edmund T. Roy and Kathleen of Westfield and Darryn N. Roy and Amy of South Hadley and his mother Mary (Kohanski) Roy of West Springfield; 1 daughter Mary E. Roy of Agawam; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his siblings Frederick Roy, Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Montori, Jeanne Ferriter and Kathleen Roy. Joe loved the ocean, and loved his time living at Stonington Arms in Pawcatuck, CT and his "family" there. His family would like to thank the staff at Parkway Pavilion in Enfield, CT for their wonderful care.
