Frederick P. “Skip” Krause 78, of Whitman, died on May 6 unexpectedly. Loving father and grandfather.
Born in the Germantown section of Quincy on February 12, 1942. The eldest son of Frederick H. Krause and A. Roberta Prescott Krause, brother to predeceased sister Louise Krause McKenzie.
Graduate of Hingham High School and with his Bachelors of Science from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. He went on to obtain multiple Masters Degrees and finished his education with a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering. Fred worked at AT&T most of his career and also at Lucent, Putnam Investments, Minus Eleven, Whitman/Hanson school system and continued to work restoring old electronic equipment in Hanover, MA.
Fred’s first passion was his children, grandchildren, camping and music. He had a long career in country music, playing with many of his childhood friends and loved ones. Fred was a well known professional musician and later played for local charities and with his beloved bandmates around the South Shore of Massachusetts. He was self-taught and accomplished with numerous musical instruments.
Fred was a generational, lifelong Mason in Hingham, MA. Education was also very important in Fred’s life. He felt that education was the key to success. This was passed onto his children and grandchildren. He was a Ham Radio enthusiast since he was a young adult.
Fred was first married to Gayle M. Cranshaw Krause Serino and then Donna Libby Krause Carpenter. Fred had 6 children. Gayle L. Burns (Alan) of Meredith, NH, Lisa M. Cloutier (Kevin) of Gilmanton, NH, Marc A. Krause of Whitman, MA, James F. Krause of Whitman, MA. Predeceased by Prescott M. Krause and Karen D. Krause Campos of Whitman, MA. Grandchildren, Nicole Cloutier, NH, Timothy Burns, MA, Christopher Burns, NH, Jonathan Burns, FL, Damon Krause, MA, Joseph Campos, MA, Prescott Krause, MA, Madison Krause, MA, Thomas Krause, MA and Alexander Poole, NH. As well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
