Beverly
Rita H. Osborne, 99 formerly of Beverly, passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020 at Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield. She was the devoted wife of the late Weldon Osborne with whom she shared just shy of fifty years of marriage.
Born in Edmundston, New Brunswick she was the daughter of the late Omer and Josephine (Gastonguay) Marquis. Rita was employed by Sylvania for many years and later in life worked as a night duty caretaker for Girdler House, a home for retired residents in Beverly.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. It was the simple things in life that Rita loved, such as living by the water and watching the tides change daily, cooking a homemade meal for her children. She enjoyed rocking each one of her grandchildren in her big brown rocker chair, squeezing their thighs and kissing their feet. She also loved lying in the sun, working on her most famous tan, with a great big box of candy kisses from Salem Willows. Rita especially enjoyed playing cards until early in the morning with all her card player friends and spending quality time with her family who loved her dearly.
She is survived by her sons, C. Paul Osborne and wife Rhonda of Groveland, Steven Osborne and wife Roberta of Peabody, Michael Osborn and wife Mary of Beverly, her daughter, Neila S. Griffith and husband John of Middleton, her daughter-in-law, Deborah Vecchio Osborne of Winthrop, as well as 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son David Osborne.
Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear.
Due to the pandemic, funeral services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a memorial gift to the Masconomet Residents’ Activities Fund, 123 High St., Topsfield, MA 01983. Assisting her family with arrangements is the Levesque Funeral Home of Salem. For guestbook, please visit www.LevesqueFunerals.com
