Wade C. Melton, 53, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, May 8, 2020, at his home with his family by his side.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, June 28, 2020, at Christian Fellowship. Due to social distancing guidelines, all in attendance are encouraged to bring and wear a mask.
Mr. Melton was born August 20, 1966, in Emporia, Virginia, to Brenda Velvin Melton Wolters and the late James Edward Melton. He was a 1984 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. Mr. Melton was an ordained minister and a former pastor at Lenox Church of God. He worked as a regional sales engineer for Dexter Axle until his health declined in 2016 following an automobile accident. He was a talented and gifted musician who loved to sing and play piano, guitar, and bass guitar. He also formerly played drums for The Kenny Croft Band. Mr. Melton was a member of Christian Fellowship.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Vicki Warren Melton of Fitzgerald; a daughter, Emily Grace Melton of Fitzgerald; his mother, Brenda Wolters & Rob of Nashville; siblings and their spouses: Lisa & Rick Bell of Vidalia, Jason Melton of Fitzgerald, and Jessica & Lisa Adams of Nashville; as well as his mother-in-law, Julie Warren of Fitzgerald. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
