BELMONT --- Georgette Jeannine Huckins, 83, of Joy Avenue, was called home to God on Friday, May 8, 2020, at her home.
Georgette was born on March 10, 1937, in Woonsocket, RI, daughter to the late Leo and Blanche (Comtois) Gregoire.
Georgette was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years and worked for the Hill School District for 25 years before retiring in 2000. Teaching was her passion and Georgette was at her happiest in the classroom. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Georgette was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Belmont, and was active in many parish programs and activities including a Lay Consecrated Member of the Presentation of Mary Order and a coordinator of St. Joseph’s Bereavement Program.
Georgette enjoyed reading, listening to inspirational music, meeting with family and friends, and will be remembered for her love of children, family, and friends.
Georgette is survived by her 7 brothers, Ernest Gregoire of Goshen, CT, Louis Gregoir of Watertown, MA, Philippe Gregoire of Carlisle, PA, George Gregoire of Sebastian, FL, Raymond Gregoire of Southbridge, MA, Paul Gregoire of Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada, and Andre Gregoire of Wales, MA; 8 sisters, Jacqueline Desrosiers of Enfield, CT, Aline Pincince of Centereville, VA, Simone Boucher of Vero Beach, FL, Viviane Naimoli of Meriden, CT, Marie Rivers of Meriden, CT, Paulette Zajac of Meriden, CT, Bernadette Kreyling of Haverhill, MA, and Irene Roy of Westboro, MA; a stepson, Philip Huckins his wife Gail and their children, Matthew and Christopher; many nieces and nephews; and she will be missed by her numerous dear friends. In addition to her parents, Georgette was predeceased her husband, Roger Huckins; 2 brothers, Father Leo Gregoire and Del Gregoire; and a sister, Cecile Anthony.
