Helen R. (Mitchell) Joyce, 88, of Manchester, died February 15, 2006 at a local healthcare facility after a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester, NH on May 10, 1917, the daughter of Lawrence J. and Mary (Martin) Mitchell. She was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Manchester High School Central.
Prior to retirement, she had been employed in the Tax Collector’s Office for the City of Manchester.
She was a longtime communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Joyce in 2002.
Members of her family include three sons and their wives, Robert E. and Joan Joyce of Manchester, Lawrence Joyce of Laconia, and Cornelius and Karen Joyce of Manchester; one daughter, Brenda Mullen of Hooksett; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; her special niece, Betty Staniels of Manchester, several nephews, nieces, and cousins; She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Timothy Mullen in 2001.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Blessed Sacrament Church on Monday February 19, 2006. Burial was in St. Joseph New Cemetery, Bedford.
