Alton C. Hadfield, 79, of Westport, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Pernel "Penny" (Leuvelink) Hadfield, they had been married since 1981.
Mr. Hadfield was born in Fall River, son of the late Alton C. and Flora E. (Gilchrist) Hadfield. He grew up in Swansea and moved to Westport in 1981. He and Penny owned and operated the former Christmas tree farm called A Quiet Place in Westport for over 30 years and during the off season, they were antique dealers. They enjoyed traveling up and down the East Coast, from Maine to Virginia, to participate in target shooting competitions. He also loved his dogs, especially his beloved Nettie.
Survivors along with his wife include his dear friends Russell Walters and his wife Pam of Westport and so many other close friends.
