Obituary

TEWKSBURY: Barbara L. (Scammell) McKenzie, age 79, a lifelong resident of Tewksbury, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at the Willow Manor in Lowell.
She was the wife of the late William J. McKenzie, who died June 27, 1973.
Born in Tewksbury on August 28, 1926, she was the daughter of the late George and Hazel (Dorman) Scammell.
Mrs. McKenzie attended Tewksbury schools and graduated from Tewksbury High School in 1944.
Following graduation, she attended cosmetology school in Lowell.
She was a communicant of St. William’s Church of Tewksbury.
Prior to her retirement in 1992, she was employed as an administrative assistant by the Marshall’s Clothing Store for 13 years. Mrs. McKenzie previously operated a hair salon at her home in Tewksbury.
She enjoyed many activities especially sewing, knitting, swimming and traveling.
Mrs. McKenzie is survived by two daughters; Mary L. DeSantis and her husband Peter of Candia, NH and Barbara A. Crenshaw and her husband George of Billerica; one sister; Joyce I. Garrick of Harvard; two grand-daughters; Victoria L. and Michelle C. Crenshaw both of Billerica.
She was the sister of the late George E. Scammell, Jr. and Virginia M. Fulling
Calling hours Sunday, February 19th, 2-7 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral Monday, February 20th, 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery.
