Edward Robert Hand, 57, of Worcester formerly of Medway, died April 29 in the UMASS Memorial Campus in Worcester.
Born in Milford, July 30,1962, the son of the late William G. and Marjorie P. (Ryan) Hand, Edward grew up in Medway and was known by many.
He enjoyed talking to people and would frequent the Medway Plaza, Library and Park to say “hello” and strike up conversations about weather, town history or the news of the day. He had an impeccable memory for names and intricate details, and he enjoyed telling stories about those he loved and that cared for him.
He loved to sing and would entertain many with his voice. He will be missed.
He is survived by his sister Marilyn of Dayton, Ohio.
Edward was the brother of the late Billy, John, David, Patrick,Jimmy, Elizabeth, Gail, Alice, Joyce, Margie and Kathleen.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. During his final days he was in the care of his beloved nephew Preston Gales of Medway.
Edward will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Medway.
The family is planning a memorial service over the Summer.
