Andra Buell Carlisle was born May 4 th 1934 passed away peacefully on the evening of April 25 th at the Willimansett Nursing Home West in Chicopee. Born in Boston MA she was the daughter of the late John and Jean Dormer. Andra was 85 years old and a life long Chicopee resident where she raised three wonderful children . She later married the love of her life Lawrence Carlisle. Andra will be remembered by her daughter Pamela Buell of Ware MA, son Wallace and daughter in law Tina Buell of Springfield MA,son Eric and daughter in law Lorrie Buell of Chicopee MA and her five grandchildren Erica Buell of Chicopee MA, Jenaya, Jerome and Nathan Buell of Ware MA Rolando Buell of Springfield MA . Along with her two younger sisters Isabell Balfour of Winsted CT and Lucille Jacobs of Enfield CT nephew PJ D'amato niece Nicole Ginsburg her husband Phil and their two children Ethan and Evan also of Enfield CT. Andra was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Carlisle and her nephew Michael Farrell son of Isabell Balfour. Andra was educated in the Chicopee school system and went to work for the Mass Division of unemployment where she worked for many years. Later in life she attended a specialized school for criminal justice training and received a certificate in basic laws and police procedures. Andra put herself through college and graduated from American International College with an Associate Arts Degree. Andra also worked for the City of Springfield at the Hamden county consortium for many years until she retired. Andra enjoyed many things in life . One of her favorite things was spending time with her family and her beloved dog Lola. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and was a very involved grandmother. She also loved to go off on adventures with her sisters. She was an avid bingo player and was always up for a game. Andra also loved camping and was a life long member of the North American family campers association. She also loved the Boston Red Sox and was an avid fan she later became a football fan and enjoyed watching the Patriots with her family. Andra also enjoyed fishing and passed that along to her children. All services will be Private. The Grise Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
