Manuel Christopher "Chris" Johnson, 61, of Anderson died April 26, 2020 at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born September 21, 1958, in Kingsport, Tennessee, the son of Manuel D. Johnson and Shirley Jean (Johnson) Hall. He retired in 2013 from O.I. Brockway Glass after 34 years. He enjoyed car races, riding go-carts, making people laugh, yard work, gardening, especially flowers and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley (Joseph) Hall of Anderson; two daughters, Emily Johnson and Eveann Ward and her children, T.J. Ward and Trinity Ward all of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina; two sisters, Lori Johnson and Kelly Jones (Scott Woodcock), all of Anderson; girlfriend, Melissa Pitts-Holland; four step-siblings, Don (Teresa) Hall and Dot (Larry) Lawrence all of Frankton , Debbie (Don) Jenkins and Lori (Dave) Marley, all of Elwood; special cousin, David (Alana) Johnson of Ingalls; best friend, Steve (Barbara) Coonce of Chesterfield and nephew, Jason Jones.
He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel D. Johnson.
Private funeral services will be held at East Maplewood Cemetery with Bill Sheets of Bunker Hill Free Will Baptist Church officiating.
