Beverly A. (Prinitz) Sampson 91, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday April 28, 2020 at her home, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Walter E. Sampson, who died in 1979. She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Sampson, 65, of Carver, MA and Beth Sampson, 57, of Franklin, MA and will be reunited with her only son, the late Brian K. Sampson (1959-1998), of Franklin and Blackstone, MA. Beverly is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Becky Byrd, of Woonsocket, RI, Barry Armstrong, of Roslindale, MA, Renee Barlow, of MA and NY, Scott Sampson, of Blackstone, MA, and Brian Marchand of Franklin, MA, as well as 8 great-grandchildren, Devin Sicari, Jaden Sicari, Logan Armstrong, Oliver Armstrong, Philip Barlow III, Calliroe Barlow, Konur Barlow, and Jason Brian Sampson.
Beverly started her life as a child in foster care in Berkshire County, MA. She moved to the Franklin area for work, where she met her husband Walter, and they started a family in their homestead in Franklin, MA. Beverly liked to cook, spend time with and care for her family, listen to and dance to country music, talk on the CB radio (as Orange Blossom and Little Dynamite), garden, hook rugs, decorate and entertain at her former home, and correspond with relatives and friends. Beverly documented her life in notes and letters, and had many friends all over the country and kept in touch with her foster family until their deaths. A call or letter from Beverly was lengthy but you knew she cared. Mrs. Sampson was a longtime active member of the Federated Church in Franklin, MA.
After the passing of her husband, Beverly started her career as a Certified Nurses Aide. She worked at Cushing Hospital in Framingham, MA and Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham, MA, and later worked in private home care. Beverly loved her many pets, and was an avid driver right up to her last moments. Her petite frame hid a very large personality and her love for infants and children will never be forgotten. Beverly attended many activities at the Franklin Senior Housing Center and hung out in the community yard in recent years, and she always enjoyed eating at restaurants. "Nana" Sampson was the matriarch of her family and well loved, and will be very sorely missed by all.
