Elisabetta (Nardella) Mitrano, 91, of Stoneham passed away on Monday, April 27. Born and raised in Saint Cosmo and Damiano, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Michele and Adele (Russo) Nardella. Elisabetta came to the U.S. in 1972, settling first in Somerville, and then in North Reading and Malden, before moving to Stoneham several years ago.
Elisabetta was an excellent businesswoman and entrepreneur. She was the owner and operator of Nonna's-To-Go, a restaurant located in Stoneham for ten years, and later helped operate Sugar Plum Party, a party supply store also located in Stoneham.
Elisabetta was the beloved wife of the late Stefano Mitrano who died in 1990, and the devoted mother of Dante Mitrano and his wife Regis (Farrell) of North Reading, George Mitrano and his wife Elaine (Brennan), Giuseppe Mitrano and his wife Tina (Grillo), all of Stoneham, Michael Mitrano and and his wife Susan (Cranley) of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Adele (Mitrano) Carchedi and her husband Frank of Wakefield, Anna Maria (Mitrano) Shaughnessy and her husband Craig of Methuen, Patrizia Mitrano of Stoneham, Matteo Mitrano and his wife Marialisa (Mollica) of Malden, and Linda (Mitrano) Tsitos and her husband Andreas of Winchester. She was the loving grandmother of Alexa, Stefano, and Brendan Mitrano, Stefania Asaff and her husband Derek, Alessendra Magalhaes and her husband Steve, the late Michael Mitrano, Elisabetta Auciello and her husband Joseph, Stefano Mitrano and his wife Kiley, Caterina Carchedi, Mitchell Shaughnessy, Julia, Olivia, Ava Bella, Bissy, and Massimo Mitrano, the late Marco Mitrano, Marchesa Mitrano, Elefteria, Alexandros and Elisabetta Tsitos. She was the loving great grandmother of Michela and Michael Magalhaes, Gino and Aria Auciello, and Giuseppe and Giuliana Mitrano. Elisabetta was the dear sister of Alfred Nardella of Italy, Gino Nardella of Australia, and the late Frank, Giacomo and Anna Nardella.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent in Elisabetta's name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101 First St., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02154.
