Patricia “Pat” Masterpol, of Liverpool, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020.
Pat graduated from North Syracuse high school and worked for the government at Hancock Field before becoming a loving mother and homemaker. She later returned to work at Syracuse University where she was an executive assistant at the Faculty Center and Commissary. She loved feeding the sports teams and made lifelong friends during her time at SU.
Pat adored being Nana, Mama, Mimi and Dido to her 11 grandchildren who thought the world of her. She enjoyed summers at her home in Alex Bay and at her parents’ camp on Oneida Lake. She would do anything to be by the peacefulness of the water. Pat had a smile that could light up a room and her beautiful smile will never be forgotten. She had a passion for gardening, garage sales, quilting, drinking wine with her girlfriends, cherry sodas from Hafner’s, sunflowers, attending church, ShoWest conventions in Vegas and annual family trips to Jupiter Beach, Florida. And oh my, did she love to shop!
Pat is survived by Richard, her loving husband of 50 years, her 4 children; Kelly (Art) Lux of Baldwinsville, Tricia (Mike) Hopkins of Seattle, WA, Heather (Kevin) Gaglione of Skaneateles, Rich (Kasia) Masterpol of Winchester, MA, and 11 grandchildren; Nicholas and Saren Laure, Mackenzie Polzin, Griff, Grant and Ella Hopkins, Colin, Andrew and Mikey Gaglione, and Richie and Klara Masterpol.
She was predeceased by her son Keith Laure, mother Louise Samm Ziegler and her sweet father George Ziegler whom she absolutely cherished.
Pat was a strong presence in this world and will be missed beyond words.
A celebration of Pat's life will take place this summer. Should friends desire, contributions may be sent in Pat's memory to St. Rose of Lima Church in North Syracuse.
