Robert Hanson Ramsey, 86, of Tifton passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A private graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Ramsey on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. Dr. Danny Ray will officiate.
Born June 9, 1933, Mr. Ramsey was the son of the late Fred P. Ramsey and Mary A. Sumner Ramsey. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Winfred Davis. He retired from Tifton Aluminum Company and from Walmart. He also served in the United States Air Force.
Mr. Ramsey is survived by his wife, Katie Elizabeth Tucker Ramsey; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert F. and Norma Ruth Ramsey of Fort Valley; one daughter, Kawanda J. Dowdy of Tifton; three grandchildren, Stephen R. Ramsey, Jennifer Martin and Winifred Dowdy, Jr. and his wife, Michasia; and two great-grandchildren, Jayden Martin and Nataly Martin.
