Juvenalia Maria (Casimiro) DeMelo, 75, of New Bedford passed away peacefully at home on Saturday April 25, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Diomar Joao DeMelo.
Born in Faial de Terra, Sao Miguel, Acores, the daughter of the late Joao Casimiro and Rosalina Costa (Silva) Casimiro, she lived in Dartmouth and Florida for most of her life.
Mrs. DeMelo was formerly employed as a stitcher for Belmont Manufacturing until her retirement.
She loved cooking and baking, and lived for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Diomar; three children, Steven DeMelo and his wife Zita of New Bedford, Robert DeMelo and his wife Briana of Tampa, FL, and Julie DeMelo Rhames and her husband Charles of New Bedford; two brothers, Eduardo Casimiro and Joe Casimiro; eight grandchildren, Jonathan Rhames, Ella DeMelo, Georgina DeMelo, Lucas DeMelo, Francisco Melo, Avery DeMelo, Audrey DeMelo, and Samuel DeMelo; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Julieta Cabral, John Melo, Dolor Melo, Manuel Casimiro, Fatima Carreiro, and Irene DeMello.
