Altagrace Gilbert, 91, of Mattapan passed away on April 22, 2020.
Devoted mother of the late Eddy, Frantz, and Garry. Beloved sister of the late Annette, Bertha, Lefort, and Marriette. Survived by her 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
Daughter of Joseph and Alteida (both deceased), Altagrace grew up to become an extraordinary schoolteacher in her hometown of Gonaïves, Haiti. A strong, Christian woman, she was admired and cherished by many. She spent her retirement years in Boston enjoying time with her family.
Due to Covid-19, burial service will be private and held on Tuesday, April 28 at St. Michael's Cemetery, Roslindale. A funeral mass and celebration of Altagrace's life will take place at a later date. For those who would like to send flowers, please send them directly to Joseph Russo Funeral Home.
