Jean MacLeod Kelley, née MacLeod, age 92, of Sandwich, Massachusetts, died surrounded by love on April 10th of Covid 19. Born in North Sydney, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to Ronayne and Evelyn MacLeod (Cohoon), she grew up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, enjoying tennis and sailing at The
Waegwoltic Club.
After graduating from Mount Saint Vincent College she became a secretary. While working at Strategic Air Command in Labrador, she met her husband, Joseph J. Kelley Jr. of Belmont, Massachusetts. She moved there and became a homemaker, living in Woburn, and for many years in Hyannis and Sandwich, on her beloved Cape Cod.
She and dear friend Max Pottie were big fans of Seaside Radio's "Sentimental Journey." A talented writer, her letters were often read on air. She loved her family, boating, the ocean, photography and genealogy.
Predeceased by four siblings, Murray, Donald, Hugh and Miriam MacLeod, she is survived by her daughters, Jennifer MacLeod Kelley of New York, New York, Linda Kelley of Medford, Massachusetts, son-in-law, Michael Piwinski, three grandchildren, two great granddaughters and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
