Genevieve “Bonnie” Dewey, 68, of Littleton, MA, passed into the arms of her Savior on Monday, April 13th due to COVID 19. She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, George W Dewey, Jr – “Bill.”
Bonnie was born in Bath, Maine and resided for a time in Connecticut. She was adopted at the age of six by the late Edward and Mary (Carfaro) Sherman of Sudbury and Littleton, MA. She enjoyed a happy childhood with them. They always had toy poodles and Bonnie loved her dogs. She looked up to her mother who was an RN. She was a graduate of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and inspired by her mother’s career, she started nursing school until an injury made it impossible to continue.
She and Bill enjoyed gardening together and canning their produce. She was a wonderful cook and loved to try new recipes. They could often be found at area church suppers which they greatly enjoyed.
Raised as an only child she married into a large extended family and was much loved by all. She will be missed by her sisters/brothers in law who welcomed her as a sibling. Her many nieces and nephews remember her as a loving, kind and sweet aunt. She often addressed people with the term “Dear” attached to her comments.
We can rejoice with her that she is now in the arms of her Savior – we can only imagine the joy she is experiencing!
Plans for a memorial service will be announced when the COVID 19 restrictions are lifted. Donations in her memory of “Bonnie Dewey” can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at: https://www.stjude.org/give/memorials-and-dedications.html?sc_icid=wtg-lz-memorials
