Agnes (Leone) Cunningham, of Medford, having recently turned 99 years young, passed away peacefully at the Sancta Maria Nursing Facility of Cambridge, April 23, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Cunningham, Jr. Born in Boston's North End, she resided in Medford most of her adult life.
A woman guided by faith and who led by example, Agnes will fondly be remembered as a beautiful, loving soul who was always ready to celebrate any and all of her family's life achievements with a bowl of homemade pasta, a glass of wine, some pizzelles, and an enthusiastic "God bless you"
In addition to her late husband, Agnes is preceded in death by her daughters, Cecelia and Nancy Cunningham.
Agnes is survived by her children; John Cunningham and his wife Luanne of Medford, Paul Cunningham and his wife Barbara of Lynn, Kathy Cunningham Sciola of Malden, Maureen Jefgood and her husband Jan of Beverly, Robert Cunningham and his wife Carla of Londonderry, NH. She is also survived by 15 loving grandchildren and 10 loving great grandchildren. Sister of Angelo Leone of Medford and Louis Leone of Florida. Further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Due to the current health pandemic funeral services will be private. Agnes will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Given today's challenging times, the family suggests that if you know someone in need, you simply help them in the best way you know how and pay forward the kindness they knew in their mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Alternatively, a donation to the charity of your choice would also help keep her spirit alive.
