Lillian A. (Trinque) Glowka, 88, of Bellingham passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Victor J. Glowka who died in 2016.
Born in Fitchburg on April 15, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Anatole Trinque.
Mrs. Glowka was a resident of Bellingham since 1952 and was a homemaker for most of her life.
Her passion was jazz music and she enjoyed attending many concerts including those of her husband who was a professional jazz musician in many bands. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting and needlepoint and was an avid reader and gourmet cook. She was known for her upbeat spirit and was always the life of the party and a great storyteller. She loved dancing, exercising, walking and yoga throughout the years. She had a flare for fashion and designed and sewed beautiful clothing including the stylish uniforms for the Bellingham High School Colorguard Marching Unit back in the 1980s.
Mrs. Glowka volunteered at St. Blaise Church and ran the bingo as well as at Bellingham Memorial High School where she co-chaired the Friends of Music and was a color guard advisor.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen M. Lindsey and her husband Charles of Franklin, David M. Glowka and his wife Donna of Bellingham and Cynthia A. Weir and her husband David of Upton, her five grandchildren, David M. Glowka, Jr., Christopher C. and Katherine M. Lindsey and Alicia and Erica Weir, her daughter-in-law Laurie Jones of Franklin and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Joseph V. Glowka and sister of the late Irene Kendall.
Due to the restrictions regarding the COVID 19 virus, Mrs. Glowka’s funeral services will be held privately on Saturday with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway. Her family will be planning a public funeral Mass and Celebration of Her Life to be held at a later date.
