It is with saddened hearts that the family of Aida L. Nieves of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, announces her passing at the age of 96.
Aida was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico in 1923. She was a kind, loving and hard working woman. Her love for her children and family was immeasurable. She worked hard at Cole Hersee Co in South Boston for over 40 years. After retirement, she loved to garden, collect dolls and an occasional trip to the Casino. Her love for animals was unsurpassed, especially her kitties. She was loved immensely, and will be missed.
She is survived by her children, Edward Nieves Jr and his wife Nancy Nieves of Derry, New Hampshire, Raul Nieves of Jamaica Plain, Ma. Linda Nieves of Jamaica Plain, Ma and Patricia Nieves of Roslindale, Ma
Grandchildren: Aidita Flores, Natalie Sheets, Denise Nieves-Hurley, Donna Nieves, Aisha Nieves, Rita Nieves, Edward M. Nieves, Edwin R. Ramirez.
She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings, Aurea Figueroa, Olga Luna, Nelida Gomez, Jose Alberto Luna, Jose Gil Luna, Felix Luis Luna, and Ada Sotomayor. Several, niece's and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Ray F. Nieves Siblings: Eustaquio Luna, German Luna, Aleja Colon and Jose Antonio Rios. She was the eldest of 12 children.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
