Olivette (Boucher) Kellogg, 97, transitioned to her heavenly home on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Mt. St. Vincent Care Center in Holyoke, in the loving care of her nurse and nursing home staff. She was born in Springfield, to the late Francois and Marie Anne (Corriveau) Boucher, and where she lived most of her life. She also spent several years living at the McKinley House in Chicopee, where she enjoyed many friendships and good times. She attended Springfield schools and graduated from Cathedral High School. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter “Pat” Kellogg. They met playing golf at the former Feeding Hills Country Club and shared twenty years of marriage before his death. She especially enjoyed attending “Pat’s” many musical performances and supporting him in keeping “Big Band” music alive and appreciated. She was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend, as well as a devoted caretaker for family and friends. She made time to give and care for others in need. She always had a meal ready to serve and her famous “banana bread” to share. Olivette is survived by her children, her son George and daughter-in-law, Ruth “Trudy”(Rivers) Kellogg of Belchertown, MA and her daughter Frances (Kellogg) and son-in-law, Rudolphus “Rudy” Troutman of Lynn, MA and her grandchildren, Robert “Bob” and wife, Laura (Pezzote) Kellogg of Wilmington, NC and Derek and wife, Nicole (Flory) Kellogg of New York City. She adored her grandsons, Bob and Derek and never missed a school or sporting event in which they were involved. Her devotion and presence at baseball, basketball, hockey and soccer games earned her the moniker “On the Go Ollie.” Her unflagging devotion to family continued with her beloved great- grandchildren, Camryn, Chiara, Luca and Maximus. As long as she was able to travel, she made sure to be at all of their important life events. Olivette was a dedicated employee of the former Albert Steiger Co. at their downtown Springfield department store and of The Republican Springfield newspapers, where she was employed for over twenty years. She enjoyed traveling, the arts and theater. She especially enjoyed her summers vacationing with her family from Lake Wickaboag in West Brookfield to the Connecticut and Rhode Island Shores and especially on Cape Cod in West Dennis, Chatham and Provincetown. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Norman and Richard Boucher and her three sisters, Annette (Benoit) King, Simone Brown and Ella Joyal. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Olivette’s life, for family and friends, will be held on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 10:00 AM in Holy Name Assumption Church, 104 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by burial in St Michael's Cemetery in Springfield. Memorial gifts can be made in her memory to the Mt St. Vincent Care Center, 35 Holy Family Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.
