Edward F. "Eddie" Carpenter, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford. He was 83 years of age.
Eddie was born in Boston on April 15, 1937, a son of the late Edward M. Carpenter and Loretta (Glavin) Carpenter. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. Eddie worked for Western Union as a messenger for over 35 years and then as a mail clerk for the Department of the United States Army in Watertown.
Eddie is the beloved brother of Helen Carpenter, Mary Ellen Morin and her husband Paul, Loretta Arbuckle and her late husband Donald, Frank Carpenter, Cora Beals and her husband Daniel, and the late Rosemarie Carbonello and her surviving husband Joseph. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
