Edith Sandifer Adcock, 91, of Tifton passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. A private graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Adcock on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest. Dr. Wayne Roe will officiate.
Born April 27, 1928 in Tift County, Mrs. Adcock was the daughter of the late Cecil Sandifer and Matha Whitley Sandifer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, A. N. Adcock, Jr.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Tillman and Margie Sandifer, Carroll and Annette Sandifer and C. W. Sandifer. Before getting married, she loved working at the Bank of Tifton. She was a homemaker and a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Serenity Sunday School class.
Mrs. Adcock is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jim and Cathy Adcock and Neal Adcock, both of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Mace Johnson of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jean Sandifer of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Bill Johnson of Tifton; a sister-in-law, Trinka Sandifer of Florida; seven grandchildren, Clint Adcock, Jessica Smith, Chloe Adcock, Taylor Smith, Hillary Smith, Reede Johnson and Banks Johnson; and four great-grandchildren, Liam Noland, Aric Adcock, Smith Owens and Camden DeTorro.
