Rayford Theodore Suggs, 81, of Tifton passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at his residence at 2202 Chestnut Avenue in Tifton. A private graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Suggs on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, at Oakridge Cemetery. Pastor John Sewell will officiate.
Bill Grantham, Robbie Gilbert, Sammy Dillard, Brian Nolin, J. J. Grantham, Derrick Dillard and Shane Gilbert will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be all his grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, which were all his pride and joy.
Mr. Suggs was born on November 16, 1938 in Worth County. He was the son of Miles Jewett and Eunice Wade Suggs, both deceased. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tracy (Linda) Suggs and one brother in law, Travis Bentley. He retired from Avondale Mills and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. He enjoyed anything that involved his grandkids, great and great-great grandkids.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Anita Dees Suggs; three daughters, Angela (Robbie) Gilbert, Gloria (Sammy) Dillard and Gaye (Bill) Grantham all of Tifton, GA; seven grandkids, Heather (Brian) Nolin, Shauna Segui, Shane (Jessica) Gilbert, J. J. Grantham, Ashley (Ryan) Vowell, Derrick (Melissa) Dillard and Jaci (Trent) Bryan; 16 great-grandkids, Hunter and Claire Nolin, Tatum Mercer, Grady and Collins Segui, Jordan, Halleigh, Grace and Carlee Gilbert, Jaden Grantham, Ryley and Charlie Vowell, Madilyn Dillard, Emmalyn, Brantley and Brody Bryan; three great-great grandkids, Luxx and Zoe Gilbert and Rynleigh Wilcox; one brother, Curtis (Margaret) Suggs; one sister, Carolyn Bentley; one sister in law, Carolyn Dees Dunn; many nieces and nephews; and one special cousin, Elizabeth Wade.
