Rosaria (Ciaramitaro) Giacalone of Medford passed away on Thursday, April 16, at Courtyard Nursing Care Center of Medford. She was 79 years old. Born and raised in Mazara Del Vallo, Sicily, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Grazia (Asaro) Ciaramitaro.
Rosaria was the beloved wife of Francesco Giacalone of Medford. Rosaria and Frank were a faithful and loving couple for over 60 years. She was the devoted mother of Salvatore Giacalone of Windham, NH, Frank P. Giacalone and his wife JeanMarie of Beverly, Maryann Blackler of Salem, NH and her late husband Darrin, and Robert Giacalone and his wife Anna of Methuen. She was the loving grandmother of Anthony, Christopher and David, and the dear sister of Giuseppa "Josephine" Bono and her husband Andrea of Medford, Vito Ciaramitaro and his wife Caterina of Methuen, and Giuseppe "Pino" Ciaramitaro of Sicily and his late wife Anna. Rosaria is survived by her sister-in-law Margaret Quinci of Melrose and her late husband Francesco, and her brother-in-law, the late John B. Giacalone Sr. and his surviving wife Anna "Connie" Giacalone of Winchester. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Pam Giacalone, and her son Joseph Garcia and his wife Jenna, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
